Week 5

My first weekly post!  Our baby is about the size of a sesame seed this week (last week the baby was about the size of a poppy seed).   My our little one is growing fast!!

This is the week that the heart is forming in to four chambers and may even start beating- how exciting.  Gary made our first OB appointment at Hershey in approximately 4 weeks (I will be 8 weeks, 5 days).   He will be able to go for the interview & history taking with the nurse but unfortunately will miss our first doctor's appointment.  For the month of November he will be in Philadelphia doing his last ortho rotation at Jefferson.  Hopefully he will be able to make most of our other appointments or at least the big ones (ultrasounds etc).

We have told most of our direct family at this point in time.  We still need to get a hold of my older brother, Eric and his family (we want to tell him on Skype so we can see their reaction).  Hopefully we can do that the beginning of this week.  Everyone has been very excited and supportive.  It was such a relief to tell them.  Now I have to work on not mentioning or talking about it to anyone else for the next 2 months- at least I have this as an outlet!

Hope everyone has a great week.  We are in State College this weekend for the big PSU game.  We have a busy week with getting Gary packed for Honduras.  He leaves next weekend and will be gone for 2 weeks.  We are so excited though, we think this will be a great experience for him and he will really get exposed to a lot of pediatric orthopaedics.   It will just be a long two weeks for me.  Can't wait till next week and to hear about all of the changes our little one has gone through in 1 week- babies are certainly busy little ones!!

Here is my first belly shot- I guess you can call it the before!

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
