Welcome Natalie Rya

Sorry this post is long over due but as you can imagine we have been a little preoccupied (or infatuated by) our beautiful daughter!  Natalie Rya Updegrove was born at 1:36 am on May 27, 2010.  She weighed 8 pounds, 4.3 ounces and measured 20 inches.  Her arrival caught us (as well as the Obstetricians) by surprise in that she made her entrance into this world very rapidly!!  We got to the hospital around 9:30 pm, they broke my water at 11:30 and I was ready to push around 1:15 am, Natalie was born just about 20 minutes later.  Fortunately my parents arrived at the Med Center at 12:00 and my mom was able to be there for her birth (sorry but no Dads allowed- he had to wait outside when I was actually pushing).  Our hospital stay was very uneventful and we were fortunate enough to get home by 1:00 pm on Friday- just 36 hours after Natalie was born.

Natalie has been nothing but a true blessing and we are loving every moment.  I don't think we have put her down for more than 5 minutes unless it is between the hours of 10 pm to 6 am.  We just can not get enough of her.  She melted her Daddy's heart the minute he saw her- he now says she can have what ever she wants (this could be bad!!)  She is a very happy baby, barely cries at all, sleeps wonderfully (I have to wake her to feed her probably 10 of her 12 feedings) and she is the prettiest, most adorable thing.  Enough of my Mommy bragging.  On to what you really want to see- pictures!  Later this week when I have some free time we will go through Natalie's story- her birth, hospital stay and first few days at home.  For now just a few pictures of our precious little one!!!

Well that is all for now- sorry the post is so overdue.  We are loving every moment of being parents.  It is amazing how quickly your world changes and all you want is to be with your little one, to love, care for and protect.  We can sit for hours and just hold her, kiss her and stare at her.  This past week has been the best week of our lives!!

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
