Week 34

One more week down- I can't believe how quickly everything is going!  Less than 6 weeks (hopefully)!  Today Gary and I did some more cleaning and organizing getting ready for our little one.    Yesterday Beth and I made a trip down to the outlets in Lancaster, and lets just say I came home with quite a few outfits for our little one.  We had so much fun baby shopping!  When I sat down and looked at the baby's clothes before we left I realized I had a good number of onesies but no bottoms or sleepers.  So I took it upon myself to go buy some (it just took so much convincing!!)  And of course I had to buy some for a little girl and some for a little boy.  I have all the girls clothes in one bag, and all the boys in another.  One bag will get washed when we get home from the hospital and the other will get returned!  It is all so exciting, baby clothes are just so cute.  Gary and I are both getting very anxious to meet out little one and to find out if we going to have a son or daughter!

We had a busy "OB" week last week.  Not only did with have class #2 of childbirth class, but we also had a breast feeding class and an OB appointment.  Childbirth class was a little more informative and interesting than last week.  This week we will tour the Labor and Delivery Unit.  Our OB apt this week went very well.  I only have four more apts left until my due date (thats crazy!)  The NP  also confirmed what Gary and I were suspecting- the baby is definitely head down and in the right position.  Other than that my belly is measuring right where it should.  I am just wondering how it will get any larger though!!  Here is my picture from this morning.

The baby is weighing approximately 4 3/4 pounds and is almost 18 inches in length.  The good news is that babies born from here on out usually do as well as full term babies.  They may require a short stay in the NICU but in the long run are usually just as healthy as babies born from 37 weeks on (full term).  This is a very reassuring thing.  I was able to appreciate Braxton Hicks contractions for the first time this week.  I thought I may have had them a time or two before but I couldn't tell in that I had no pain at all.  My abdomen just got rock hard.  Then the other night I picked up a 50 pound dog of bag food and induced some Braxton Hicks (don't worry I won't do that again!!)

Well hopefully only 5 more posts till out little one is here (or even less if we are lucky)!  Hope everyone is enjoying springtime.

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
