Week 7

From lentil bean to blueberry!  What a great week.  Our little one has doubled in size in 7 days and is about a half an inch long now!!  This large change (or probably just the increase in my hormones) has made for an interesting week for me.  My mood has not always been what I wanted (that is my nice way of saying I was cranky), and some slight "morning sickness" has started.  Its hard to say how much of this is related to the pregnancy vs how much is related to Gary being away (only 1 more week!!!!)

This week the babies hands and feet are starting to form (even though they look more like paddles right now).  Their eyes already have pigmentation- I wonder if they will be Gary's big brown eyes or my blue-grey eyes! The brain is continuing to grow and now the umbilical cord is formed and functioning in its job of carrying nutrients and oxygen to our developing baby.

I just returned home from Washington DC where I visited my friend from high school, Christin.  We had a great weekend.  Sasha spent the weekend with Max and Carrie and she had a great time as well.  She is extremely exhausted and has been asleep since we got home.  I think she gets spoiled when she stays at Max's.  Sasha and I have a busy week ahead- it is my attempt to keep myself distracted so I don't miss Gary quite as much.  Leslie and I are headed to Downingtown to visit Kim, Ross and Caleb on Tuesday and Lauren is coming over for dinner on Thursday.  We head down to Mom and Dad's on Friday and Gary gets in late on Saturday night (can you tell I am excited)!!  Hope everyone enjoyed the nice day today and has a great week!!

Here are some pictures of a sleepy Sasha.  She has no idea what she has coming in 7.5 months!!

  1. You do a good job at hiding your hormones! I worry that Sasha will become chronically fatigued. Miss you!

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
