Week 8

We have reached 5/8 of an inch!  Approximately the size of a kidney bean this week (some weeks are a stretch as you will continue to learn).  Our baby now has little webbed fingers and toes.  He/she has their arms flexed in front of their heart and their knees have formed.  The babies tail is almost gone.  The lungs and brain are continuing to develop with primitive neural pathways now formed.  The baby is now moving all around though I can't feel it yet (and won't for a while).

Mom, Nic and I did some maternity shopping today.  Fortunately there is no rush, besides feeling bloated I am not showing yet at all.  Hopefully I do not for at least another 5 weeks till we share the news.  The nausea has persisted but luckily I have not thrown up nor had to miss any work- just some long evenings on the couch and some early nights to bed.

It is October 17th.  I am sitting on the couch at my parents house, in front of the fire, watching PSU homecoming game.  State College got 5 inches of snow over the past two days...IN OCTOBER!  Glad I am enjoying the game in the nice warm comfort of their living room.  Gary is in for a surprise tonight.  He is coming from a nice 90 degree climate to a frigid 40 degree rain.  HE COMES HOME TONIGHT- I am very excited!    We have part of our first visit this week- it is our nurses visit on Wednesday afternoon.  My post will probably be a few days late cause I have a friend coming in to visit next weekend and then my first real appointment the following Monday.  Maybe we will have some more news to share next week.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend and is staying warm.

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
