Week 12

9 more days and we are a third of the way there- its actually kind of hard to believe.  We are so anxious for May to come (for many reasons) but especially to meet our little one.  As I am sure you can see, our blog has taken on a new and improved look this week, thanks to Gary's hard work over the past two days.  We still have not filled all the links (eg the About and Contact tabs) but hopefully over the next week or two we will get around to it.  Hope you are enjoying the blog half as much as we are enjoying working on it!!!

The baby is getting to a substantial size now- or at least I feel that way when I look at the fruit they are comparing them too.  We found another website with what Gary feels has "better" fruit comparisons so you will be seeing some new images from here on out!!  Our little one is over 2 inches this week!!

Our little plum now has functioning reflexes- they are able to open and close their fingers, clench their eyes and make sucking movement with their lips.  If Gary pokes my stomach (which he sometimes does) the baby will now squirm in response.  The baby's kidneys are starting to function and are excreting urine into their tiny bladder.  Their brain and nerve cells are multiplying rapidly at this point.

We are now going to try to take belly shots every week from here on out.  Gary has created a tab where you can see all the belly shots in a row for comparison (kind of like a flip book!)  Here is week 12.

We have our next OB appointment in just over a week where I will get to hear the babies heartbeat again (and Gary will get to hear it for the first time!!!)  Gary also comes home for good (well sort of) this Friday which is very exciting for us.  It has been a long three months with him out of town most of the time.  Really nothing else new and exciting out here in Hershey.  Looking forward to seeing our families at Thanksgiving- and finally letting the "news" out completely.  Have a great week everyone!

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
