Week 13

Week 13- In 1 day Gary gets to hear the heartbeat for the first time and in two days I am officially in my second trimester (13 weeks, 3 days)!!!  This is also the week when we get to tell Gary's grandparents and the news can be officially out that we are expecting!!  So there are a few big things coming up this week- unfortunately not too much to report on last week.  The main thing is that Gary is now home for good - for a while at least.  He 'technically' has the next 10 weeks off, although this time will be consumed with residency interviews and the holidays.  He will be doing many trips all over the east coast with one or two nights away from home at a time, but the majority of the time he will be here in Hershey (which I am very excited for).  I feel like my energy has really been coming back and I now have the desire to start exercising more regularly again.

The baby this week is now approximately this size of a peach and almost three inches long.  Their body is starting to catch up to size the size of their head- the head is now only a third of the size of their body (compared to being half the size of their body three weeks ago).  The babies skin is so thin it is almost transparent and you can see their blood vessels and organs right through it.  Tiny fingerprints are forming on all their fingers and toes.

I was having a very hard time picking out a nursery theme.  We were thinking more along the jungle or rainforest theme (depending on which one of us you talked too).   We were trying to stay gender neutral and get something that matched the paint already in the "nursery."  I had no luck at Babies-R-Us or Target but I found one online.  We ended up "winning" the whole set on eBay yesterday for like 1/4 of the actual cost and its brand new, in its original packaging.   Lets just hope it matches the paint in the babies room when it comes.  I think it fits both the jungle and rainforest themes!  Here is a picture of the set.

If we don't have the pleasure of seeing you over Thanksgiving we hope you have a great Thanksgiving, enjoy all the great food and spending time with friends and family.  We will be back in Telford Wednesday night till Friday evening then heading for State College till Sunday.  Safe travels everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is my week 13 picture- I thought this dress would show my belly more- not so sure it worked but here it is.

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
