I am currently sitting out on our porch listening to the rain- to be honest I am sitting outside because it is much cooler than in the house right now. The house is up to 87 degrees from this weekend's heat wave! We are trying to resist turing the AC on, plus Gary has the heating/cooling system torn apart right now. He is mid-instillation of an inline humidifier and I must say he is doing a fabulous job. He has really been pounding out the home projects (also know as his honey-do-list) these past few months while he has time before residency. Unfortunately we did not get the car seat installed yet secondary to some rain this evening but hopefully some night early this week we will be able to do that (just in case). Our friends Zach and Tara stopped by for a very nice visit today. We took them to a Par 3 (otherwise know as Chip and Putt) golf course near by. Unfortunately we forgot how bug infested it can be this time of year and with this weather; but none the less we still had a great time. To defeat the heat we hit Rita's on the way home. Unfortunately Sasha is having a hard time adjusting to the temperature. She is sleeping all day (not THAT out of the ordinary for her) and is trying every tactic imaginable to stay cool. Here is how we found her last night!
And as you can tell it is definitely time for us to have a child. We have entirely too many pictures of Sasha! She drastically needs a human sibling.
Our little one is nearing or at 6 pounds and approximately 18.5 inches in length. They are putting on approximately an ounce a day. Curiosity got to me and I jumped to week 40 on the website I use for my facts to see what they are using as their end point as far as weight. According to their generic scale they have the infant being born at approximately 7.5 pounds. The girls at the office have a pool going as far as the date of birth, weight and length. I had to laugh at first cause they all seemed to putting the baby being born at or around my due date but weighing in the 6 pounds range- some did venture up to mid seven pounds. Gary and I have a feeling that the baby will be a little heavier in that I was 7 pounds 13 ounces (I believe) and Gary was in the high 8's. I would be thrilled with a 6 or 7 pound baby but I am not sure if genetics are in our favor- who knows though- we will have to wait and see.

Hope everyone stayed cool this weekend and enjoyed themselves. Happy May!

If it helps, Aaron and I were both 8#+ babies, and we had a 6#7oz baby at 39 weeks. you never know. we were definitely expecting bigger but were pleasantly surprised! also, what will you be calling the blog after delivery day? =) or will it cease to exist? hopefully not. I love baby pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle! You are giving me hope. One never knows (and same thing on the date of arrival), and that is part of the fun of it. I do plan on continuing the blog after delivery. By the way, what is your blog site? Lauren showed me once but I didn't remember the site name. You can email me it if you would prefer. BTW Lydia is adorable- love the pics on facebook- I can't believe she is getting so big already- time flies.
ReplyDeletei think if you click on my name, you should be able to get to my blog. also, facebook tells me maybe baby updegrove is anxious to come out? look forward to hearing more whether or not he/she make his/her appearance tonight/tomorrow or not until another few weeks.
