Week 14

So I am a little late posting this week- I am sorry.  I have to post tonight- not just because I am behind but because Gary cleaned the house today so that I would "feel relaxed and have time to write my blog."  He is such a good husband!!  Our doctors appointment went well last week, really uneventful.  We were sitting in the room waiting for the nurse practitioner and Gary goes "I think Susan Boyle is in the hallway."  In walks the NP and she sounds just like Susan Boyle.  She was the most energetic and slightly crazy 60 year old British lady that I have ever met, but she was very good.  The only eventful part was Gary got to hear the baby's heart beat and we scheduled our ultrasound for right after Christmas.

The baby grew about a half an inch last week and now weighs about one and a half ounces.  They went from being our little peach to our little lemon (who knew a lemon was larger than a peach.)

Our little lemon can now do all kinds of tricks- they can grimace, squint, frown, suck their thumb and pee (I have never been such a proud Mom, haha!)   The babies arms are now almost proportionate to the rest of their body while their legs are still respectively short and have some catching up to do.  The baby now has a fine covering of hair all over it's body called lanugo.  I still can't feel our little lemon moving around but they are getting more and more active- hopefully in about 4 weeks or so I will be able to feel them kicking away ( I may regret saying that once they are up under my ribs!!)

As you can see we started to decorate for Christmas though we have not been able to get a tree yet- we are hoping to go this Sunday.  This picture was taken at like 6 in the morning this morning right before I left for work so sorry if Sasha and I look so tired.  Basically I am just feeling and looking fat and don't think you can tell I am pregnant yet- oh well in due time I am sure I will be wishing I looked smaller.

On Friday morning Gary and I leave for a one night trip to North Carolina.  He has an interview at Duke on Friday and Saturday.  I plan on just eating out and doing some shopping- great trip for me, kind of boring for Gary but it is a night away.  Well that's it till next week.  Hope everyone is doing well and had a great Thanksgiving!

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
