Week 22

We have almost reached a pound- it seems like such an accomplishment.  The baby is approximately 11 inches in length now.  As I think I mentioned before the weekly food comparisons are gone and we now go on a month to month basis.  They compare the babies size in month 5 to a papaya.  To me, I would say I technically I am in month 5 as of this Friday, the 29th.  I just can't believe how quickly these past 5 months have gone.

The baby's face is fully formed now with their lips, eyebrows and eyelids become more distinct.  Tiny little tooth buds are beginning to form beneath their gums.  Their eyes are still lacking the pigmented portion so there is no way of telling whether they will have my blue eyes or their father's big brown eyes that he is so good at batting to get what he wants.

This is the last week that Gary has off before he starts his next rotation.  Unfortunately his next rotation is at Lehigh Valley Hospital so he will be living with Mom and Dad for the next month (bad for me but good for him!)  Gary has been amazing on his time off though- he has gotten so much accomplished and really got things ready for the baby.  I think we have gone through everything in our house- decided if we really "needed" it, and if we did labeled it and found it a home for a while.  The nursery is completely emptied out.  It use to be Sasha and my room but Sasha is now sharing space with Gary in his office.  We carpet cleaned the nursery the other night.  Other than that nothing new with us.  I have my next OB apt on Monday which should be another uneventful visit.  The following visit is the one we are really looking forward to which will be my 28 week apt, the start of my third trimester.

Hope everyone is having a great week!  Miss you all.

Here is my 22 week belly shot.

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
