Week 18

This week is going to be mostly pictures because they are much more exciting than anything I have to write.  We had our 18 week ultrasound yesterday, which in general went very well.  Everything is perfect- right as one would hope for.  The baby is measuring between 18 and 19 weeks.  Our baby was a little difficult during the examination and didn't want their picture taken.  The baby stayed in a tight little ball pressed up against the top of my uterus for most of the exam making it difficult to get good images and making it a tad bit more painful for myself and the ultrasound tech.   They had me curling in a ball, going for a walk, doing steps, you name it to try and get the baby to move.

Curled in a ball- those are the babies feet in front of their nose

The baby is almost a half a pound now ( I know they look much larger on the ultrasound) and are getting close to 6 inches in length.  They are comparable to a sweet potato this week.

We could see the baby moving all around on the ultrasound, kicking their legs, flailing their arms and opening and closing their fists.  Unfortunately I still can't feel our little sweet potato moving, hopefully soon.  My baby bump is slowly growing- it is very obvious in certain outfits and others I can hide it well.  I am sure there will be no more hiding it soon.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a great New Year.

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
