Week 30

Less than 10 weeks to go, 68 days till my due date to be exact (we have to have a new count down now that match day has passed).  Our little one sure seems to be growing.  They are up to 15.7 inches long and almost 3 pounds this week and are certainly taking up more room in my belly!!  Here is my 30 week picture.

There is a pint and a half of fluid surrounding our little one but this amount will continue to decrease as the baby continues to put on weight.  The baby is apparently mimicking breathing (in preparation for the outside world) by moving their diaphragm in a rhythmic way.  If he or she accidently swallows amniotic fluid while doing this, they can trigger hiccups.  Our little one has hiccups all the time- they must be getting in a lot of practice.  The babies vision is continuing to develop but this will continue for months after birth.  When the baby is born their vision will only be 20/400 meaning they can only see things a few feet in front of their face.

As far as Gary and I, we are doing great.  Gary is so excited about staying at Hershey for residency.  We really love the area, they have a great program, and it is one of the few orthopaedic programs that is very conducive to having a family.  It is the perfect match for us.  I have been so blessed in that I am still feeling wonderful.  We have started back up with exercising and going for walks regularly now that the weather is nice.  My weight gain seems to be right on tract at this point in time.  I still have just as much energy, and some times more than I use to.  I just keep hoping and praying this continues until I deliver!!   We are really looking forward to this weekend in that we will be going home to Mom and Dad's.  We have my shower back home on Saturday and then our family Easter dinner on Sunday.  It has actually been a while since I have been home (I think it was the beginning of January)!  Can't wait.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a great week.  If only every day could be like the weather we had last weekend.

And finally here are some pictures of our nursery!  I will have to take some more of the whole room but we are in the middle of Scotch-guarding our glider so there is no cushions on it yet.  At least you can see the crib and the bedding!

We have some more wall hangings up so I will have to take more pictures once we have everything back together!

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
