Week 31

One more week down- less than 9 to go.  This past weekend was a very exciting and fun weekend for Gary and I.  We went to Mom and Dad's for the weekend - it had been almost three months since I had been back home.  We had a wonderful time visiting with friends and family.  We had our Easter dinner on Sunday and on Saturday my mom and future sister-in-law had a baby shower for me, with help from my extended family.  It was so nice to catch up with everyone and Gary and I are so gracious for all the wonderful gifts we received.  What amazed me the most was everyone bought a book with them for our little one and out of the 30 or so books we received we did not get one double.  We got so many great books that I can not wait to read to our baby, a lot of them I remember from my childhood.   Last night Gary and I sat down and unpacked and organized all the baby things and tonight I started washing some of the clothes and blankets.

I have my next doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon- it should be a rather uneventful appointment.  I have been feeling a lot more elbows, knees, feet or hands poking out of my abdomen at this point in time- sometimes you can even see them.  Last night because of the way I was sitting you could feel one extremity going up under my rib cage- fortunately our baby is very gentle when they do it.  It often just catches me off guard- doesn't hurt at all (at least yet).  Gary and I both feel as though my belly is growing  over night every night!  Here is some proof.  Here is my 31 week belly shot in comparison to just 4 weeks ago!

The baby is over 16 inches long at this point and approximately 3.3 pounds.  He or she is getting ready to start their growth spurt and starting to plump out.  The baby is able to turn their head from side to side.    Unfortunately that is all I have about the little baby for this week.  It is getting more hard to find info for each week.

We just wanted to wish everyone Happy Easter.  It sounds as though we could have some great weather leading into the weekend.  I can't wait to get outside more- this rain the past two days is getting old.

We have been blessed with the sweetest little girl who is excited to be a big sister any day now. Gary is still trucking through his second year of residency and I am fortunate enough to be staying home with our little ones.
